  Standards Australia has done a lot of work on Small Business and Standards, including the development of short, concise and easy to read documents known as Business Performance Tools to help small business with management issues. The reasoning behind the project is that many small businesses fail every year because of lack of vital business management knowledge. This site provides an update on progress.

• Slow Food

  Each of the 80 000 members of the Slow Food movement around the world are part of a convivium. They build relationships with producers, campaign to protect traditional foods, organise tastings and seminars, encourage chefs to source locally, nominate producers to participate in international events, and work to bring taste education into schools. Also refer to various Slow Food convivium and events around Australia.
• Le Cordon Bleu, Paris

  Founded in Paris in 1895, today the presence of Le Cordon Bleu encompasses 26 international schools in 15 countries attended by more than 18 000 students every year. Director of the Paige Group, Helen Paige, will be attending the Culinary Institute on her next trip to Paris later this year.
• Belle Isle School of Cookery

  A great cooking school in a fantastic location on the northern tip of Upper Lough Erne, Ireland. Belle Isle is a 470 acre estate spread over eight picturesque islands, and offers self-catering accommodation as well as the cooking school. Helen did a cooking course there in 2006.
Well worth a visit.
